Or rather, should I say, Little Mouse see, Little Mouse do?

My husband and I love it when we have the opportunity to say “I wonder where she got that from” statements at each other. Especially when they refer to the less than desirable habits that each of us have, that the kids picked up.

One of those little habits of mine includes keeping a hair elastic around my wrist. I always have one on, in case an emergency ponytail is required (which happens more often than you think).

We know that our kids likes to mimic the things we do, and we’ve caught each of our girls at one time or another with elastics around their wrists. The Little Mouse more than her older sister.

This little one likes to ask for clips and “ponies” in the morning, and by the time we get around to lunch, she’s usually pulled them all out.

I’m sure the daycare has supply of clips and elastics from our house and we randomly find them in the couch, a cupboard or I even found them on the wrists of her stuffed animals once.

So I guess I shouldn’t have been so surprised to find one around each of her elbow’s this morning, as we were getting ready for daycare.

She went to daycare yesterday with two little pony’s on her head yesterday morning, but came home without any. D changed her into her pajamas last night, but said they weren’t there, so the surprise – or rather mystery is – where they came from and how they got all the way up to her elbows.

And of course I got to hear, “I wonder where she got that from” as I told D about it this morning when we came downstairs.

So my new rule isn’t “Do what I say, not what I do,” as the kids clearly won’t listen to that. My new rule is “you can only do that when you become a mommy.”

Until then, I’m going to put my hair in a pony with my handy elastic around my wrist!
