Living out my dreams

It’s Monday, which is always a tough day to get out of bed, start the routine again and get going on a week ahead.

It’s also the day after the 2014 Olympics in Sochi has ended.

The day after the Canadian Men’s Hockey team owned the game we were meant to play! The day after the final tally counts Canada in third place in the medal rankings, with our second best finish of 25 medals.

Our Canadian athletes did us proud, all of them. No matter what colour the medal is hanging around their neck, or in some cases, no medals at all. They made us hold our breaths, yell out loud, cry and burst with pride.

I am proud to be Canadian.

So I found it fitting to have today’s Music Monday song be the Canadian Olympic Anthem Living out my dreams by Roch Voisine. Not only does this song tug at your heart (especially when played as the background to an Olympic highlight reel), but a donation of the profits of this song will be made to the Canadian Olympic Foundation to help support emerging athletes.

Congratulations to all athletes, everywhere!

Happy Monday!

Living out my dreams

By: Roch Voisine

This is the moment I’ve been waiting for all my life
To open my heart and show you I’ve nothing to hide
You see the best in me and I owe it all to you

Take a look at me now
Living out my dreams now
Sure as I am standing here tonight
Make this last forever
You and me together
Living all our dreams out loud tonight

All from a spark to a flicker that burst into flame
Now the amber of hope and this moment are one in the same
Some call it destiny shining this light on me

Take a look at me now
Living out my dreams now
Sure as I am standing here tonight
Make this last forever
You and me together
Living all our dreams out loud tonight

You don’t have to close your eyes to dream
All I see is right in front of me

Take a look at me now
Living out my dreams now
Sure as I am standing here tonight
Make this last forever
You and me together

Living all our dreams out loud tonight
