My kids love music. I can hear them singing to commercials, in the car, to each other and when they’re by themselves. They, of course, love popular music, and the likes of Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Meghan Trainor, Rihanna and Drake.
We’ve become channel surfers, skipping both the songs we don’t like – ours trumps theirs (most of the time) and the commercials. Especially in the morning, when radio-listening time is short-lived, during the two minute drive to school.
So when summer rolls around, they get excited to guess what the song of the summer will be. I remember speaking about it in May and June, which both girls having strong opinions of which song it will be. It’s fun to guess.
Of course we forgot about it until recently when the Little Bird asked me what the song of the summer was.
I told her that I didn’t know for sure, as I hadn’t really paid attention; however we could probably guess based on air time. So her guess was Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop the Feeling. The Little Mouse guessed Sia featuring Sean Paul Cheap Thrills and I guessed Calvin Harris featuring Rihanna This is What You Came For.
If I had to guess, I’d say Timberlake takes the title, however I wouldn’t be surprised if it was something by Drake. Pick one, because there are many to choose from.
Since the summer is almost officially coming to a close, I’m happy to bring back my Music Monday post and thought I’d go with a little JT on this Labour Day Weekend!
Enjoy and happy Monday!
