Safe and Sound

Last week I had to go away for work, leaving my husband and kids at home. It was my first time away from all of them. While my days were packed with sessions, activities and excursions from morning till night, I missed them all very much.

I’m not sure if calling every day made it better or worse, but I needed to hear their voices. I even had a chance to send a few emails to my husband once in a while. However, I was away for 5 days and even those short conversations made me miss them more.

As they say; absence makes the heart go fonder. This trip made me realize how much I love each and every one of them.

We enjoyed some family time on Saturday and decided to treat the girls to McDonald’s. The toys in the Happy Meal are in celebration of the 75th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz.

I love that movie!

My Little Bird had many questions about all the characters, so I decided to play the movie when we got home. While the Wicked Witch of the West was a bit scary, I think the Little Bird enjoyed it and the Little Mouse loved the singing.

That movie is incredible and still does stand the test of time.

Who can argue? There really is no place like home.

In light of my recent home sickness, today’s Music Monday song is Safe and Sound by Capital Cities. Everyone should feel safe and sound and surrounded by love. Always.

Happy Monday!

Safe and Sound

By: Capital Cities

I could lift you up
I could show you what you wanna see
And take you where you wanna be

You could be my luck
Even if the sky is falling down
I know that we’ll be safe and sound

We’re safe and sound

I could fill your cup
You know my river won’t evaporate
This world we still appreciate

You could be my luck
Even in a hurricane of frowns
I know that we’ll be safe and sound

Safe and sound
We’re safe and sound
Safe and sound
We’re safe and sound
Hold your ground
We’re safe and sound
Safe and sound

I could show you love
In a tidal wave of mystery
You’ll still be standing next to me

You could be my luck
Even if we’re six feet underground
I know that we’ll be safe and sound

We’re safe and sound

Safe and sound
Safe and sound
Hold your ground
Safe and sound

I could lift you up
I could show you what you wanna see
And take you where you wanna be

You could be my luck
Even if the sky is falling down
I know that we’ll be safe and sound

I could lift you up
I could show you what you wanna see
And take you where you wanna be

You could be my luck
Even if the sky is falling down
I know that we’ll be safe and sound

We’re safe and sound
We’re safe and sound
We’re safe and sound
We’re safe and sound

Safe and sound
We’re safe and sound
Safe and sound
We’re safe and sound
Hold your ground
We’re safe and sound
Safe and sound
We’re safe and sound

  1. It’s good to go away and see how much you really do miss them! I always get the best hugs if I had to go away over night, I think it is good for the boys to miss me every now and again šŸ™‚
