Today is my 100th post! Yay!
I can’t believe it’s already at 100. I feel like I haven’t been doing this for too long, and yet I feel so accomplished.
Lately, I’ve seen quite a few blogs with questions about themselves, so I thought, in honour of my 100th post, I’d share a few things about myself. So here are 39 things about me.
Happy Friday!
- My favorite present I’ve ever received? As a child – my Cabbage Patch Doll. As an adult, tickets to see Hairspray from my new boyfriend (turned husband!)
- Name a time you felt beautiful. My wedding day
- What are your biggest pet peeves? Using the word ir-regardless (because it’s not a word!)
- I found out there was no Santa when…my mom wrapped a present for my brother that was from Santa, but I was with her when she bought it!
- What brings you happiness? Watching my kids succeed, when my husband laughs hard at something. Coconut. Suntan lotion. Writing. Good music.
- When I drink coffee I am a better person.
- Something I quit. Smoking!
- That was one great party… A housewarming party I had when I moved in with two friends.
- If you could be on a reality show, which one would you choose? Big Brother, because I’m not in good enough shape to do Survivor.
- In high school I was…middle of the road.
- Describe something that your spouse does better than you. Organize and do the laundry.
- What is the one thing that you want to be remembered for? My honesty.
- The most expensive piece of clothing you’ve ever purchased and why. In college I saved up to buy a pair of Replay jeans that cost me $160. I had to have them.
- What super-power would you most like to have and why? Invisibility
- Talk about a book you’ve read that changed your views on something. “I know this much is true” by Wally Lamb, changed my views about Schizophrenia
- What would you change about your birth experience if you could? Nothing. Scheduled C-Section, no surprises.
- Current celebrity crush Matthew McConaughey
- List your 5 teen crush on celebrities Corey Haim, John Stamos, Christian Slater, Rob Lowe, River Phoenix
- Favorite comfort foods? Potatos, Pasta, Tex-Mex and Greek
- Who was your childhood best friend? Do you still stay in touch with him/her? Jenny. Thanks to Facebook we are still in touch.
- What is your biggest regret? Lying to an old friend about a boy.
- ….and it landed me in the ER… Playing with my brother and breaking a glass bottle over an air vent, he stomped on a piece to break through the grate not knowing my hand was there, cutting my pinkie finger. Worst part is my father warned us not to play near the vents, and we didn’t listen. I ended up with 7 stitches on my pinkie finger.
- What do you wish you would have gone to college for? Teaching
- My most embarrassing moment ever…walking through campus in college, not realizing my backpack had hiked my skirt up to my waist, so everyone could see my underwear! I still cringe when I think that I didn’t realize it and some girl had to stop and tell me.
- My first car…A big blue truck, with a cab on the back and no rearview mirror
- An irrational fear left over from childhood. Watching Children of the Corn! I still won’t do it.
- What did people tease you about when you were a kid? My nose and later my bra size.
- Do you write about everything or is stuff protected from publication? Where do you draw the line? My kids’ names and pictures. I will write about their adventures, but the world doesn’t need to know who they are.
- What makes a best friend? Somebody who listens, laughs and tells the truth, no matter how brutal. And somebody who can keep a secret!
- A recipe fail… Perogies. Horrible pastry, didn’t stay together, an all around mess that didn’t even make it to the cooking stage. It all went in the trash.
- What is the most daring thing you have ever done? Went on a ride at the beach, where me and two friends swung from a crane. I’m sure it really wasn’t the safest thing ever, but it was fun!
- What did you want to be when you grew up? A famous piano player.
- What moment made you most proud of yourself? Winning an award for Excellence in Sports Journalism in college.
- Do you have a favorite sibling? If I only have one, does that really count??
- I can’t stand looking at it for one more minute! Those paper blinds that are still up in our house from when we moved in.
- Dream destination? Greece
- Favorite book? The Diary of Ann Frank
- Your biggest weakness? Chips
- I am not crazy, I swear! I just talk to myself. A lot!
