Uptown Funk: Music Monday

Welcome to the week of the Little Mouse!

She turns four on Wednesday, and as I try to simultaneously wipe the tears from my eyes and shake my head about how we got here already, I’m actually very excited to reach this milestone.

The three’s killed us.

This Little Mouse, or Skunk – as I sometimes refer to her, has kept us on our toes! She can switch from a cute little baby to a hormonal three-going-on-13-year-old. So maybe it’s wishful thinking, but I’m hoping that four brings on a little stability. I don’t want her to lose her spunk, just her whining.

Please. Even if it’s just a little!

This little girl loves to sing and dance. She loves to listen to music too. (I wonder where she got that from!?)

And we have officially graduated from Nursery Rhymes to pop music in the car. She prefers Katy Perry and One Direction to the radio; however she has a love of One Republic and lately, Bruno Mars.

So it’s only right that today’s Music Monday honours the Little Mouse with her new favourite song, Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson, featuring Bruno Mars.

She sings it everywhere and doesn’t care who hears her, despite her father rolling his eyes. (He’s not a fan of Mr. Mars) In fact just last week I had to take her into the walk-in clinic to ensure she didn’t need a stitch in her eyebrow after a snow day mishap, and even with an eyebrow on her eye, and an hour waiting in that room, she started singing “Girls hit your hallelujah (whuoo)”, much to the entertainment of the patients around her!

Two more sleeps until my baby turns four! You can expect more Mouse-related stories for the whole week.

Happy Monday!
