I haven’t posted a Music Monday post in a long time. I think I lost my way on these posts, and got caught up in new music without it really having a tie to my life.

I started sharing my favourite music because I truly believe music weaves through memories and moments. A friend shared a post on Instagram a while back that really hit home with me; “When you’re happy, you enjoy the music. But when you’re sad, you understand the lyrics.” Frank Ocean

I completely agree with this quote. I started to share only what I was enjoying. And not that there is anything wrong with that…but I think I want to share the music I understand.

This blog is the soundtrack of my life, and like a good movie, you need to have songs that relate to each moment in time; each ebb and flow; each high and low.

So Music Monday is back! I promise to share the songs that have touched me, that move me and that I understand.

Today I am sharing Macklemore’s new song Glorious, featuring Skylar Grey.

I understand this song because it fully and gloriously portrays his love for his grandmother. And it’s so, so beautiful.
